ELI Leadership Committee
In between general membership meetings, Component 2 (UBC ELI Instructors) issues are addressed by two committees. The Leadership Committee is made up a Component Chair, a Recording Secretary, and two Member-at-Large positions. If a Component 2 member is elected to the Local Executive, they also sit on the Component 2 Leadership Committee as an at-large member.
Your Collective Agreement with UBC is renewed periodically. These negotiations are conducted by a committee of members. This committee is elected at a membership meeting, typically several months before negotiations begin

ELI Bargaining Committee
Members of Component 2 elect a committee to renegotiate their Collective Agreement with UBC. The committee is typically elected several months before negotiations begin at a general meeting.

Members of Component 2 also elect a group of colleagues to meet regularly with managers at the English Language Institute to address issues of concern that fall outside the grievance or bargaining processes, such as instructor morale, professional development ideas, and communications.

Shop Stewards
Shop Stewards are members elected by their colleagues to assist them in understanding the Collective Agreement and assist them in their dealings with management. Shop Stewards are provided training to fulfil their roles. Currently, the following people are your Shop Stewards:
